Buying a carpet remnant is a great way to buy a really high quality carpet at a really low price. A carpet remnant is left-over carpet. Don't be scared by the word, left-over, it's a good thing and works to your advantage.
There are times when it is more beneficial for the flooring store owner to buy a whole roll of carpet instead of cut orders. For example, someone is carpeting their house and needs 1,000 square feet of carpet. The flooring store then checks stock with a manufacturer, like Mohawk, Shaw, Stanton or Nourison...great quality carpets. When stock is checked, there is a 100 foot roll available. This particular roll is 12 feet wide and 100 feet long...so we have 1,200 square feet of carpet but we only need 1,000. The remaining 200 square feet can carpet a space that is 12 x 16.
A local flooring store, like Floor Expo would buy the whole roll, use what we need and sell the rest of the carpet as a remnant. You, the customer, are going to get a great deal because that carpet was ordered for someone else, the carpet is already in stock and bottom line, we just want to get rid of it. That is why carpet remnants are so cheap money wise but not cheap quality wise!
Floor Expo in Fairfield, NJ has a huge inventory of carpet remnants for sale in our New Jersey Flooring Store.
